Riza sat at the kitchen table, Jean sitting across from her.
“She’s going to be fine..” He sat to her, for what was probably the two hundreth time.
“I know.” She sighed suddenly.
“I mean look at the front yard…” She smiled. “Is that not proof enough? I’m just worried…the military can break someone..”
Jean nodded. He opend his mouth to say something, when the front door slammed.
Neither made to move. She would come to them.
Sure enough, a very tired looking Sami peered around the half opend door to the kitchen.
“Are you comin’ in or what?” Jean asked her.
She nodded and walked through the door. She stopped in front of the table and held both of her hands behind her back.
“Well?” Riza asked.
Her left hand set a paper on the table. Jean picked it up.
“ We give the name “Full Fire” to thy Sami Mustang.” He stopped. “You did it.”
She nodded. “It was easy.”
Riza stood up. “Good for you, I just hope this life is really what you wanted.”
“You’re mad at me,aren’t you.”
“I asked you not to go…”
“ I know.” She said looking to the ground. “I’m sorry. I have something that might make you a little happier with this…”
“Oh?” Riza asked. Sami pulled her right hand out from behind her back and handed to to her.
Riza read over it. “So I’ve been promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. And Second Lieutenant Sami Mustang has been put under me?” She smiled. “Yes, this does make me happier.”
Sami grinned. “Good!” She turned to Jean. “I’ve got the same rank as you!” She stuck her tongue out.
“Big deal,runt.” He said lighting a cigarette.
“I’m so not a runt!” She yelled. “And if I wasn’t so happy right now….I would be killing you!” She added sweetley.
“And what about Elysia?” Riza asked. “ I know she went with you.”
“She’s the Water Crystal Alchemist. Also a Second Lieutenant.”
“This world….It’s in trouble…”Jean said softly as Sami ran out of the room.
“ I don’t know about that,” Riza replied thoughtfully. “This might just be what the military needs…”
“Maes’ daughter and the daughter of fullmetal and the Flame enlisting? Sounds like a threat to all of our sanity to me…”
