So, today I finally sent off my JET application, as well as all of the supporting documents. It feels like a real weight off my shoulders, as I can really start to focus both on my dissertation topic (though I'm having a little problem with that, as my proposal is on my old laptop) and getting my essay in for after Christmas. I ended up being quizzed by the staff at the post office, since apparently quite a few people had came in with their applications today.

At least those two months means we can start to prepare for interviews! I need as much practise as I can get DX

You've seen the sample questions on ITIL, right? It's the "What would you do if...?" questions that scare me the most - some of the possible situations they throw at you are rather unusual! Apparently the interviews themselves are only about 15-20 minutes but they seem to pack a lot into them, since a lot of people get asked to do a teaching demonstration as a part of it. I'll probably spend my spare time at Christmas thinking of a simple English grammar point to teach about and bring along some teaching aids if I get an interview.

There's talk of an ITIL UK meetup once people know whether or not they have interviews - there's a woman on the forum who's done JET a load of times and knows what they're looking for pretty well, and she's offered to run people through sample interview questions. It'll probably be in London, if you want to come along.

What placement requests did you put down?
