Good question. Usually it is a matter of convincing others that aphasia does not mean lack of intelligence.
Depending on who it was, I would show them that I trusted in their abilities through tasks that require intelligence. I would not supervise. I would not "fix" things afterward.
It is a long, slow process. It is infinitely easier to damage this than to repair it.
