A friend at Vassar got a lot of calls my sophomore year from this scam company, claiming that he was be entered to win an all-expenses paid trip to somewhere awesome, and all they needed was his bank information so they could confirm. They called and called and called, and finally he handed the phone over to another friend, who had some shameless man-ho skills. He told the poor lady working for the scam company that she had a pretty voice, and asked if she was free later, and basically skeezed at her for 10 minutes or so. That was the end of that!

This kind of makes me wish I received nuisance calls from telemarketers or the religious right. This conversation made my night.

Harassing missionaries is so hilarious! But being a telemarketer sucks, those people are just trying to get by and it's not their fault the boss never devises a good system for finding people who actually want to be called...

I have to say, were I a telemarketer, I think I'd be telling my coworkers, "And then I heard the barking just stop ... and I started laughing so hard I accidentally hung up the phone!"

Fair enough! These pranks are indeed more funny than mean. I have heard some rotten ones though.
