I was pointed to
this Salon article. It's about the "street kid" subculture in the Northwest (though she insists that the culture is the same across the country). Some of it was dead obvious. Kids who hang out on the streets for their own subcultures. When those subcultures intersect with drugs, they often become violent. Violent kids with lots of free time is rarely a good thing.
The odd bit is that the author insists that these street kids play a lot of RPG's, and that RPG's are harming their worldviews (and she implies that they are harming their sanity).
I'm kind of curious as to other people's reactions to this. Particularly anyone who might have experience with these "street families."
