Thailand and film at Customs

Ive heard that you can only bring in 5 rolls of still film in duty free to Thailand - does anybody have any experience regarding this ( Read more... )

Hey Jamie,
Already have the film, Its medium format film so its really hard to find in asia, thats why ive bought so much with me (ive got the next 3 months backpacking in asia).

Im in Singapore at the moment, in a few hours I will be in Bangkok! yayyy! =)

Tell you what: I'll post that in Lonely Planet online forum , to see if anyone can tell me that, then I'll get back to you here.
That interests me also because I'm planning to carry lots of film too when I go to thailand :|

These are the statements that I got from people who are or have been to Thailand, from Lonely Planet online:

It's not a problem. I've had my camara bags searched on arrival but think they were more interested in looking at my cameras than the amount of film I was carrying. (Certainly more than five rolls).

Carry your film in your hand luggage as it gets a lot less radiation at the baggage check.

I've carryed in 35 rolls of 36 exp. each year for the past four. They don't seem to care. I carry-on everything and keep the film in a "film shield" lead bag. I always carry slow film as well (64), the speedy stuff is much more sensitive.
