On a crappy note, everyone seems rather depressed (or at least disenchanted) around these parts. Are we all really fucked from this economic downturn or is something else at work?

My friend's mother just got 45% of her pension fund raided by the feds. Expect everyone's pensions fund to be seized very shortly.

Joe Biden says the economy is "absolutely tanking".

NYS is planning to introduce 88 new taxes.

1 in 10 Americans are on food stamps.

As a nation we have a negative savings and shameful trade deficit.
Systems are rapidly being federalized while there is acclimation of military and police for civil unrest.

The US has been turned into a post-industrial 3rd world nation. Some people don't see it yet. They will. All the major think tanks are calling for a new war on the scale of ww2. Political leaders claim it is the only thing that can take us out of this recession. What does history teach us? Violence is coming. Domestic, overseas, but most likely both.

I suspect there is a little of everything going on. The weather here is just like Summer on Mars. Cold as fuck. I'm not worried about the economy - the whole world is having issues.
