So, I'm trying to plan a trip to LA for our break in April... but it's not exactly coming together. Airfare is tolerable, renting a car is even cheap (GASP!) but hotels... are horrible. Even ones in the ghetto that have 3 bad reviews, (one saying that the best thing about it was gettting to leave) are at least $60/night. It's bad. And my email

my friend joe figured out this amazing hotel scam to get free rooms. it has something to do with two of the online booking services. i'll try to remember to ask!

maybe you could even stay down in long beach with us for a night... we have an inflatable mattress.......

You'll have to let me know! Right now, I'm thinking it might not work out. (which would be ok, because it would be good for me to save some money for a while).

I have to tell you though... Portland has got to be the coolest town on earth to be vegan. They have some really damn cool stuff there. I've been reading some back issues of Herbivore, and there are some really great stores there. You are lucky! I will have to visit alot once you move!

I'm actually thinking about going vegan. I don't think I will ever be fully vegan, but I'm moving more in that direction.

we leave tomorrow for a week in the PDX! sooo excited. you must vist lots when we're there! we're actually staying with a bustie named zora for a couple of our nights there, hurrah! we're going to plan Monster PDX Bustie Gettogether 2005 for the summertime!

good for you!! every bit helps :) even if you just start making things like muffins or cookies vegan... you can't tell the difference if it's done right, maybe ellen can give you pointers!
