One of the things I notice when I go to hair band shows lately (which is very very few) is that most of the people at the show are stuck trying to relive their youth. And I don't want any part of that. I want to live NOW. Which is kind of why I've moved on from going to those kinds of shows. Once in a while is fine, but all the time is a no go.

And like you, I'm there for the music. And maybe hanging out with my friends or whatever. But not so much for meeting musicians. If it happens, cool. If not, that's fine too. I'm not going to be disappointed in the show if I didn't get to meet someone.

Yeah I'm so over the nostalgia thing. There's only so many times you can see the same set list!

This is pretty much exactly all the same for me.

can't say I ever was a groupie - I've always gone to shows for the music or time with my freinds. Have I gotten to talk to most of my faves? Well yeah, but most of my faves are 'folkies' or groups that are very interested in their fans.

Next Sunday I will be going to see Dropkick Murphys for the... well I don't know how many time - The first time I saw them they were playing in a street - and I just got a thing asking if I wanted to pay for a meet n greet and even though I have a reason to actuly talk to the band (I'm looking for permission to use a song) I thought that the drama would be to much to deal with.

I like to take anyone who's got good taste, no drama, and down to make the trip, so that's why you were and you're always welcome babe. :)

As I've been saying lately...
I'm a Band-Aid bc I'm cheap, not because I'm a slut.
I just want to be on your list, not on your cock, ha.

I mean really, who wants to pay to go see PBF or Bulletboys for the upteenth time? But they are my friends and expect to see me there, texting me to make sure I am, and there ain't much RnR to do in Vegas.
But REALLY, WHO wants to DO them? Bleh
Lately I end up having the headliner get me on the list, and flirting w/ the 20-something youngins since they are much hotter w/ lesser egos. ;)
I KNOW everyone in this town thinks the worst about me since I'm always on the list and w/ the band. Affects my life NONE. The boys I go see know who I am, known most of them longer than any Vegas people.

That's why when Lesli said I had to take off my shirt or get out and go to Hell, I said bye and stopped through Hell, MI, on my way home, took a picture of me by the sign and e-mailed it to him.

Yeah, you're one of the few people I've met who keeps a good head space through everything. You = awesome. ;)

I suppose I have never been too upset about the "groupie" definition. I found that no matter how I define myself, people will think what they will based on what they assume- or what some people have gossiped out of jealousy or for whatever reason. I've been able to rid myself of 99% of the drama that came with certain people or certain bands and it makes shows more fun.

In some cases, I was a fan first and a friend later. In the cases of some bands, it was as a friend who at least supported the dream and respected the expression, even if it didn't appeal to me.

Did I hang out a lot? Yes. Did I ever hook up? I'm human and yea, things can happen between adults who are attracted to one another, especially as the years progress. For one particular guy, we had a fun friends-with-benefits thing that extended over a few years and we accepted it for what it was and were mature enough to be happy for one another when we found someone we wanted to date exclusively.

Was it ever my goal to hook up at a show? No. Did it ever make or break my ( ... )

Yeah I never understood those fans either. It's supposed to be FUN, nothing more!
