some of you may have figured by now that when it comes to my boys, I am notoriously fickle. I ping-pong from one to the other and back again, never able to pick a clear favourite

It's Official KU is my favorite toosoftbluebuddyNovember 14 2007, 08:25:20 UTC
Were you able to rent Out of the Blue? It isn't available yet in the US. It isn't even listed on Karl's Yahoo Movie Filmography. I also checked Amazon and there was no listing to buy it either.
I agree with you, the French porn-stache really doesn't do it for me. But since it is Karl I am sure that I can overlook it. I'll be sure to watch the extras. Again, I agree, as much as I like to watch how he takes over a role, I like him even more when he is himself talking about his job. He is so passionate and articulate. Lots to love, for sure!
I am having to go to great lengths to get my hands on the Truth About Demons also. No one has it in our video stores. My friend is ordering it for me on her DVD by mail program, but it isn't currently available.

I have contacts *grins*
It's not available here either, but a very wonderful person made sure I got my grubby little mits on it :-)
Oh man, Karl talking about his job... passionate and articulate, as you said. And it shows that he actually has some working braincells in that pretty head of his, which is more than can be said for other *coughtomcruisecough* actors...
I had a nightmare of a time getting my hands on Demons! I ended up ordering it from a company in Canada, which cost a smegging fortune! of course, it sure as hell was worth it :-)

The last time I bought a movie from a questionable source was a nightmare. I bought all 15 disc collector set of the Sharpe series.
It shipped from Hong Kong and it would not play in my DVD player, by the time I went to track down the seller, they had closed their account and I was out $120.
I'll just wait for my friend's Blockbuster by mail to send me Truth About Demons to us.
Unfortunately, but with good reason, I am more than a little gun shy.

Luckily the company I ordered it from was a proper one, and I got the dvd just fine, but it ended up costing me £30, which is about 3x as much as I'd usually be willing to pay for a dvd. Still, it was worth it.
I bought my Sharpe dvd boxset a few years ago, and it set me back £100 (hubby and I made it our christmas pressie to each other, as we both LOVE Sharpe). I'm a little irritated - to say the least - that the boxset is now only £40 :-(
You survived the pornstache *giggles* but the extras definitely made up for that look. Wasn't it great though to see Karl do something more serious than the adventure movies he seems to have gotten typecast in over here? I wish more filmmakers would take note of that man's talents and I'm already all jumpy waiting for his 'Bones' McCoy. Finally, a Star Trek movie I'm actually looking forward to; Eric's presence won't hurt either ;)
Ohhh, you and me both! Karl and Eric finally in a movie together... Now all they need to do is find a spot for Hugh jackman, and urbanaman fans everywhere (um... that would be me - just not in a slashy way...) will be dancing around the room for joy. oh wait. I was doing that anyway.
But Karl absolutely has to keep doing NZ movies. There's been some incredible stuff coming out of that neck of the woods over the years (and not just LotR, lol), and I have to admit to being extremely fond of him using his real accent. :-)
but yes, next time preferably without the pornstache *snort*
In fact, if I'd have received it a couple of days sooner *curses royal Mail*, I'd have used in my film analysis portfolio for uni... As it was I did League of extraordinary Gentlemen instead :-S
But yes, very good movie. And Karl is karl. 'nuff said.

You really make me proud, ya know? Like you I adore hearing Karl talk about his work in interviews. He's so completely evoted to his craft. OOTB is a very good film, sad but so well done. and yeah the stache doesn't really fit Karl (of course he isn't playing 'Karl' there) and it's anything but sexy. His poerformance rings true though, and the ending with him on the roof...perfect.
Great to see a post from you hun. :0 ) Always glad to 'see' ya!

I'm similarly fickle, I admit, but I always get back to my original loves... i.e. Phil Collen, Sean Bean and Jens Sembdner. And Scotty Caan. *nods*

Fantastic to see you too honey!
Karl = ♥ - with or without questionable facial hair, lol! (though I have no objections to him having lots of stubble, no sirree!)
I think Karl needs to come and give a lecture or two at my uni. yes, I think that would be most... educational... :-)
