You're Not Alone

Dean woke to the sound of someone moaning. A yawn escaped him as he rose to turn on the light. As he looked in front of him he saw his brother shaking on his bed as the moaning continued.

"Sam?" He rushed over to his brother. "Sammy?" Sam continued to shake, sweat trickling from his face.

"I'm fine Dean," he murmured as he shivered. Dean stared at him.

"You don't look fine," he contradicted. Sam sighed.

"It's nothing," he muttered. "I can deal with it."

"Don't give me the 'it's nothing' bullshit," Dean growled.

Sam sighed.

"It's my..." His voice trailed off. Dean frowned.

"You're what?"

"Blood addiction," Sam murmured finally. He shuddered. "Hadn't had any...for a week or so...." His shudderings got stronger. Dean closed his eyes. How could he have been such an idiot? Both had been consumed with worry that Lucifer had risen that he had forgotten Sam's blood addiction problem. How could he have forgotten something like this? It was what nearly drove them apart.

He sighed.

"How often does this happen during the night? And how long?"

Sam shook his head.

"D...Doesn't matter."

"Yeah, the hell it does, how long have you been dealing with this Sam?" Dean's voice was harsh. "And don't lie to me, anymore!" He added sharply.

Sam gave another shudder.

"For the last couple of w...weeks."

"Damn it, Sam, I thought we were going to be honest to each other! No more secrets!" Dean tried to steady his voice.

"I know," Sam moeaned. "I just...thought...that after everything I put you throught that I..."

"That you what?" Dean demanded. "That you what Sam?"

"That I...That I deserved this," Sam whispered suddenly. "Got what was coming to me type thing."
