Dani and I went to see a screening of this epic of crapulence at a horror movie festival last week. I've seen this numerous times before, and it's always a good time to spot the inconsistencies, the redundant and inane dialogue, and the "special" special effects ( Read more... )

In his defense, if you haven't already seen Plan 9 then either 1) you don't really care anyway or 2) you'll be glad for the plot summary so you can convince you're cool/geeky friends you've seen it.

Plus, I generally feel it's a little unfair to ask for a spoiler alert on a movie made 48 years ago.

Unless, of course, you were joking... which is 100% possible. It's so hard t tell in text.

then again, in a perfect world, people would put spoiler alerts and cut tags on *everything*. even cave drawings.

Plan 9 is truly a "It's so bad it's good". It tries so hard to be a good movie and gives Bela Lagosi top billing even though he is just in a home movie that Ed Wood filmed. That amuses me so much. And knowing that the vampire woman (Vampira) sued Elvira for 'stealing her look'.

Everyone should see Plan 9 just to see where Ed Wood's efforts were and where they fell.
