Although I know the reasons, I can't fathom being against abortion and for the death penalty at the same time. Go Catholics!

Same thing could be said about support for legal abortions and opposition to the death penalty. The conservative view amounts to only preventing the destruction of "innocent" life. The liberal view amounts to only preventing the destruction of "human" life (or maybe easier: "living persons"). Viewed from the opposition's lens, I guess conservatives are hopeless(ly oppressive) romantics and liberals are (vicious) amoral monsters, but neither side minds certain types of killing.

There are those idealists, however, who oppose both practices, and those pragmatists who support each.

I, for one, just want to read the new D&D rulebooks.
