I also asked my senator to vote Nay, yet he didn't even show up because of some stroke type thing. I think he actually made it in to vote for some medicare vote later in the day and knowing him, he woulda voted Nay on FISA, but whatever. Also, McCain didn't vote... SHOCKER. He's missed 61% of the votes! My man Feingold has never missed a vote. I want to move to Wisconsin just to vote for him.
oh and I was thinking today "how can congress give someone immunity for something that's against the law? why would they have that power?" and today the ACLU said they were going to fight FISA as soon as it's signed into law, so there ya go.
What do you think of this fun conspiracy theory. Nixon ultimately resigned over a wiretap-gone-wrong. In fact, it's why FISA was created. What in the world is stopping the Bush administration from using their resources to spy on the opposing party to find dirt, not even necessarily illegal, with which to persuade key members (Obama, Pelosi, etc.) to vote for what they want. It's a nice, quick exit from congress for anyone who speaks out.
Last week I also called my senator, McCaskill, as well as Obama. I don't know why you even bothered with Lugar.
How've you been Sam? Anything fun going on in B-town? Did you run the mini this year?
I just called Lugar to be fair. I always like to give the benefit of the doubt.
We didn't run the mini, but things are good! We adopted two dogs, Sandra graduated, we've got a plot over at the community garden with Bill. How about you?
