Got blown home today. There are gusts of wind like fists thumping round the streets. Some were strong enough to push the car sideways! I hate that feeling. It is stripping the trees of their lovely golden leaves on our street and swirling them round as telltales in mini tornadoes. Good day to not be in the park I think. Don't worry. It will come together very quickly, one day building site, a couple days later just a mess that a couple of days will sort out. I wouldn't rule out christmas yet

If you have a basement you could chain the kids down there and get on with painting, even in bad weather. Do you have a basement?

No basement unfortunately but we do have an attic and a (very small) shed in the garden. Which one we stick the kids in depends on their recent behaviour, I suspect.

No basement but I don't mind shutting them out in the rain :) We do have an attic though, which, perversely, is closer to being inhabitable than any of the rest of the house.

It's starting to really blow here now - it will be pushing the car across the road weather tomorrow I think.

The house thing is always horrible - any given job always generates at least one more, unforeseen one; workmen always take three times longer than they say they will; and there is always more stuff to pack than you think...

Hmm - I should be renamed Cassandra, maybe.

We were spoiled because the first workmen were the window people and they turned up early, cleaned up after themselves and finished ahead of schedule. I LOVE them! The other workmen are more true to type. :( Sigh!
