Big bills

Well the new house is not yet inhabitable, and in fact due to a few factors beyond our control we seem to have slipped backwards rather than advanced at all this last fortnight. Still, by the end of this week we will have a nice warm new bathroom and by the end of next a kitchen (the cost of which was rather like an arrow in the chest actually - ( Read more... )

The annoying thing about this is that I can have flashbacks to this same bloody boiler being all wrong when we tried to get the gas laid on and we haven't even got to move in yet. Those stoves are looking like a better and better investment to be honest.

You are making my mere replacement central heating system seem positively tame.

Good luck on Christmas Moving Day (well, perhaps week before Christmas moving day -that would be easier).

Would have been easier if we had been able to do that at the outset whereas we are instead doing it piece by piece. Still, solidarity sister!

I really do sympathise. Houses that keep attempting to self destruct are just gaaah!

We need rewiring. I am not looking forward to it. I imagine it will end up requiring replacement ceilings, floors and possibly walls... the roof's not too good either.

We looked at a house like that when we were hunting, except the foundations there were not good either. Sympathies!!!
