A tad chilly

Lovely sunny day so I hung washing on my nice new washing line. ... It froze. ... It was an odd sensation having to crack the towels off the line and force them, creaking, into the basket. It was surreal.

cold, washing, weather

Well, at least it's sunny. We've got more snow.

Wouldn't mind snow. It is a real rarity here. Have not seen snow since 2005 hen we went to finland - snow that settles anyway. They have snow in Dublin now though and a right meal they are making of it too. I can see though that it would lose its charm pretty quickly if you had it each and every winter.

I have done that - not recently but I have done it.

Welcome to your new line though.

Snowed here for new years - froze on top so it stayed - but it sounded like rain a few minutes ago so who knows, either it will all be gone or it'll be an ice rink outside come morning..

We have ice rink in Munster. It took 5 days for the Lough to freeze last time. The rain over Xmas melted it all. It too less than 2 nights of this frost to freeze it all over again. COLD!

This is balmy!

Though having said that, I did still teeter in fear of going on m'arse, walking along the road to m'building. In retrospect, the road was a bad choice, since the pavement seemed to be OK; over-fitting to the UK data set, where the reverse often seemed to be the case.

Gosh - I haven't done that for ages! I'd almost forgotten - it was always a weird sensation. I have an urge to hang washing out tomorrow now. We are at 0.5 at the moment.

That should do it if the air is still enough. I could dry washing on New Years Day because there was a nice stiff breeze in spite of minus 3 temperatures. When the wind dropped yesterday, c-rrrrrrrrr-unncchhhh!

Love the icon btw.!

Glad I wasn't in that one. It was cold enough at Midsummer!

Perhaps you should iconise yourself for the summer...

It didn't quite get cold enough to freeze the washing today - only down to 2C with a slight breeze!

That happened a couple of times when I was a kid on the farm. I remember mom bringing frozen blue jeans into the house to dry out.

Hee - I am with you here. All my socks froze on the line, like a little row of cardboard feet.

That seems oddly festive to me. :)

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire.
Wet socks frozen to the toe.
Perhaps I should have put them in the tumble drier,
Now they're stuck to the line in a row.

I didn't realise you were related to William McGonagall.
