I gotta mention the top ones look cool, but only from the sideview; the reason being is that the side-view 'wings' are angled up a bit, while the head-on views have those projections perpindicular to the helm. Angle them up a little like the side view, and that'll make them a little more interesting than... well, blimp fins.
I like the open/close split in 'em. Though I wonder if they could have eye-slits incorporated with the panels (keep the bottom edge of the top helm, but scoop out the tops of the face-panels so the eyes can stare out. (likewise you may have to lower the top line if you want the minimalist thin eye slits...)
You are both right. Revel in your excellence, I command it.
Its official, the Praetorian Elites are going to have the hammerhead gizmos (Although I've made them properly hammerhead, without the feathery bits) The idea is they have heartbeat sensors as well, so to find someone in a dark room or if they've been blinded by a flashbang etc, they can swing their head from side to side a few times to triangulate an enemy's position. Plus the battle mask needs to be bigger to not only indicate status but also have ConCom gear.
The eye issue: Dan is indeed correct, its supposed to have a binocular style attachment but the entire helmet material is like a two-way mirror with some kind of low-tech HUD system projected inside. But having eye slits would also make sense in case of interference, etc. Capital!
