Well, been rather busy with various goings on recently; need to get back to my weekly blog as I can't remember exactly when etc I've done stuff!
Rach's 18th party was the main highlight of last week in its fancy dress glory! The theme was music icons or genres and I originally was planning to go as George Harrison with a suit and tasche but when talking to my Mum and Bethbeth about the party and costume ideas (well mainly Beth's charity shop finds from our trip to Staines to get Scott Walker gear), she mentioned Charlie Chaplin. Whom composed the music for his films and would consist of the same outfit just a different moustache! So I went as him :)
Lucy and Lyci came over before to exchange shirts for blazers and just somewhere to go before, then we set off for the fairly short walk to Laleham Village Hall! I got a few car horn honks on the way which was rather embarrassing, just tried to hide under my hat but that clearly failed. Ah well! It was a good night with Rach's uncles band playing a set for most of the evening whom were fun to dance to whilst getting slightly drunk, due to me not eating much during the day, plus bulmers and smironoff's don't really go well together. My walking stick came rather in handy to try and steady me whilst walking from outside, to the dance area, to the back bit where Matt made people some tea (apparently it was disgusting). Beth and I being two of Greg's favourite people agreed that we should, well I should, get them to have the xmas gig as fancy dressed theme. We will look so cool...not. My walking stick may get in the way, or just get used to grab people :P
On the note of Delays, I am rather excited in that I am seeing them again in October in London. Yay! It's in the middle of the proper week of uni so isn't the best plan as I plan to get back to the campus at 1.30 am and will probably have a lecture next morn. Oh well! I will be representing the fanbase as no one else can make it (Bethbeth I will miss you dearly :() and its Jenny's, a fellow fan, 18th the next day, so as a way to not embarrass myself (mainly infront of Aaron) I was going to try and get a video of them saying Happy Birthday to her. *fingerscrossed if I can stay long enough* Eeee!
I went to the theatre with Lucy and Hazel in Earl's Court to see 'Lingua Franca' on Sunday afternoon which was rather nice! When Hazel and me were in the queue getting our train tickets, two guys asked us if we wanted their's as they were to Zone 2, at this moment we weren't sure if we needed Zone 1 or not but kindly accepted these guys offer. When Lucy arrived we discovered that we needed zone 2 so split her fare into 3 which made our grand afternoon out to a budget cost of £6.50! (Including the theatre ticket) Wooo.
The play itself was really good, it was based in a language school in Italy and how the characters interact etc. The lead guy Hazel noticed and told me in the interval looked like Aaron, which then changed my view of him for the rest of the play :P The theatre itself was really small as its ontop of a pub and had no air con so it was so hot in there!
Monday night was the drama gala party which was highly enjoyable. Was nice seeing people after a long time! The Edinburgh crew's play was so adoreable about David finding his true love, this being Flo, through finding her mobile phone. There were parallels to their A2 piece but both as equally as cute! Duncan played a song on his guitar and Beth and Lucy played a few songs which was enjoyable to listen to. Dominque's piece was very....Dom is all I can describe it! Afterwards there was the dance party which was just loose yourself in the music by focusing more on your bodys movements than your mind. Was fairly easy in the slower paced songs but more tricky in the others. As it was boiling in the studio most people ended up outside which was rather nice, lying on the benches looking up at the clouds!
I've seen two films at the cinema this week both being amazing in their own different ways. Inception=total mind fuck as it was so complex but amazingly written and shot. Leo wasn't too bad either, even if he has lost most of his appeal that I was so attracted to back in the day, he played the character (who was equally as complicated) well!
The next day I saw Toy Story 3 with my mum and brother in 3d. Before then I had never seen a 3d film and it took a few mins to get used to. No way could I sit and watch normal tv in 3d mode all the time, my eyes were hurting just from the adverts! The film itself, was as brilliant as I expected. Funny, the original characters, cry worthy (I didn't but almost did) and joyful as ever!
Yesterday, as an early bday present from my uncle (and savings) I thought a new tv :D Good ol' Argos end of catalogue clearance as my 22inch, freeview and dvd built in by Samsung was reduced from £300 to £220!! Bargain. Now watching Atonement and marvelling at the screen's loveliness :D
