We still haven't figured out what made that thumping sound downstairs the other night. It wasn't a single "bump", like the broom falling over - it was three measured solid impacts, and it made the cats sit up sharply at the foot of the bed and stare wide-eyed into the (semi) darkness. Do you have steam heat? Might've been an air blockage in a radiator or some junk? I know our radiators scare me every winter when they come on and I've conveniently forgotten the knocking and noise from the last year ;)

Forced air heat - I remember odd radiator noises from Exeter, as well as the groaning sound the automated flue in the boiler made when it rotated into the closed position.

Still no data, but also no repeat.
