I borrowed the name Bogan from NarcissisticRiceBall on fanfiction.net. She derived the archer's name from "Bowgun Man", which I thought was brilliant.

Summary: When Hyogo is insulted by Kirara, he uses her own desire against her.

Wow, I believe this is the first time I've seen a fic with this pairing. And although I'm more of a fan of Queen Hyo than bi-Hyo, your writing makes this AU scenario feel completely plausible. Instead of falling into the typical fandom trap of creating an implausible scenario just to showcase a cherished personal interpretation of a character, you're successfully used your unique characterizations to support the narrative. Very smooth execution.

What's more, there's nothing predictable, trite or cliched about this story. A welcome addition to the fandom. More diversity is a good thing ;-)

What's funny is that I sat down and watched a few episodes of S7 to get back into the swing of things to write this, and I realized that I definitely skirted the edge of that trap in another story. My goal was always to humanize Hyogo and at least give some rational explanation as to why he acted the way he did in the show. But watching it again after a break, I felt that I overlooked his mean streak and self-centeredness in an attempt to give his character balance. So, it felt good (in a really ugly way!) to portray him more closely to what's presented in the series.

Hyogo is a character in the show who SOUNDS all business and very stoic, but he LOOKS like a catty, witty mofo, and I didn't realize that even after episode nine. So I love this interpretation - cherished - and original, I feel - as jun_i says. This is even more than fanTAStic!
