[IC Information]
Character Name: Chris Redfield
Series: Resident Evil
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Species: Human
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Appearance: Chris is a natural athlete, and has the build of a soldier, together giving him a very imposing action-hero figure. He stands 6'1", and weighs in at 206 pounds. In his time in the Air Force and with S.T.A.R.S., he had a much leaner build, but has bulked up since joining the BSAA due to the extensive training regimen. He usually wears his dark reddish-brown hair short, though sometimes he'll let it get long enough to spike up. His face is most often clean shaven, but in the field he'll let a little stubble grow in. His BSAA uniform consists of sturdy ripstop cargo pants, jungle boots, high impact kneepads, a tight fitting neoprene/UnderArmor shirt with the BSAA logo on the shoulder, and a drop-thigh pistol holster. In civilian attire, Chris prefers simple clothes like blue jeans, t-shirts, flannels, and work boots.
Personality: Chris is usually a quiet man unless he feels needs to be said, and then it's no-holds-barred. He is brave, stoic, determined, and very headstrong. He lives to serve and protect, and is very protective of his little sister Claire. However, Chris does have a dark side. He can be very obsessive, such as his desire to bring down Umbrella, and once he sets his mind on something it's nearly impossible to get him to change course. Chris is a man who can't just let things go, and will dwell on them to a point where it starts to become unhealthy. That being said, he also has a very compassionate personality, and a great deal of comraderie with his teammates, especially the other survivors of the Spencer Mansion Incident.
Abilities: First and foremost, Chris is an expert marksman with any type of firearm. He was the best shot in the RPD, and won several trophies, much to the dismay of Forrest Speyer and Kevin Ryman. His knowledge of firearms is just as impressive as his performance with them. Chris is also a trained Air Force pilot, and can fly anything from a Harrier to a helicopter. He has been trained in police procedure and small unit tactics, and served as the S.T.A.R.S. team pointman due to his alertness and coolness under fire. He is skilled in close quarters battle and hand to hand combat, and can handle himself with his fists, knives, or a sturdy blunt object. Chris is also an avid guitar player, fisherman, and car enthusiast, especially old muscle cars and hot-rods.
Weaknesses: Chris' number one weakness would be his love for his sister, which ironically is also his strength. If he feels she's in danger, Chris will do anything to help her. He'll lose his cool, and will recklessly do whatever it takes to save her. His bull-headed nature makes it hard for Chris to adapt to change very well, and he's very much a "my way or the highway" type of man. Chris is an intelligent guy, no doubt, but he prefers things in layman's terms, as technobabble goes right over his head. Rebecca Chambers gave him no end of grief with this during the Mansion Incident. Mostly, Chris seems to lack a self-preservation instinct, and looks before he leaps more often than not.
Manhattanite or outsider? Outsider
History: After being kicked out of the Air Force for reasons he won't discuss, Chris Redfield became a drifter until he met up with Barry Burton in Raccoon City. He was recruited into the RPD's elite Special Tactics and Rescue Service, serving as Alpha Team's pointman and marksman.
After S.T.A.R.S. was wiped out in the Arklay Mansion Incident, Chris left for Europe to uncover the truth about the Umbrella Corporation. Not much is known about what happened while he was there. During this time his sister Claire was taken into custody after breaking into an Umbrella facility in Paris, and incarcerated at Rockfort Island. Chris eventually found her thanks to a tip from Leon Kennedy, and the two narrowly escaped the horror the found there and at the remote Umbrella research facility in the Arctic.
Presently, Chris is serving with the BSAA North-Western Branch, a unit dedicated to eliminating bio-weapon threats across the globe. He always has his eye open for any signs of Umbrella or Albert Wesker, though he is hoping that chapter of his life is finally closed. Things are never that easy, though...
