...They might not be tropical, but there's no animal otter. What would you call it?

Hmm, that's a hard one. Got any suggestions?

Mn... it's cute like Ojii... but that love of shellfish could only be rivalled by Icchan. I think Icchan would be a good name, but I wouldn't like to make this conversation so one-sided, so maybe you should call it... Hexagon. ...Sorry, I was just Icchan to get a pun in there somewhere.

He didn't seem to like Hexagon, but when I shortened it to Hex, he liked that. And he's finding lots of clams too.

Cute little guy~
I don't know how long you mean to keep him, but I don't think wild animals should make pets. What if he has a family?

If he had a family nearby, I don't think he would have come out of the water and followed me all over the beach. I will keep that in mind though.

I was thinking of little children who wander off from their family when something catches their attention (I was guilty of that as a child, haha). But poor thing, you said they aren't usually found around here, do you think it got separated and is lost? ):

I think so. Or somehow this island pulled him in the way it's brought other people and animals here.

Isn't he though? He likes it when I scratch his head.

Absolutely! It'll be nice to have someone looking after his health since this isn't his normal climate.

Sure. He might even give you a clam or two. I put a bucket on the sand and he's been putting clams in there.

:O He collects clams for you!? That's amazing!

I know! I'm surprised he's not eating them all by himself.

Wow! I didn't know those kind of otters would be here. That's really neat. Looks ... fluffy.

When he gets dry, I'm sure he will be. I wasn't expecting it either, I thought sea otters lived in colder waters.
