Ahh, Anthony, you are so much less of a cynic than I am. I believe that Valentine's day was created as another corporate holiday, designed to prey on people's insecurities and make them buy crap so the economy will be boosted. Besides that, the holiday doesn't really hold significance outside of buying things. I personally don't do anything for Valentine's Day, because I think it's a sham. Most people just feel bad on that day, even those who are in relationships. Not celebrating things like that has taken a load off for me. Choosing not to care has made me feel better about me ( ... )

The one's I've got picked out right now are Moulin Rouge, The Notebook, Samurai X, The Princess Bride, Titanic and Beauty and the Beast to name a few. Oh, I can't forget Romeo and Juliet.

And yes, I would love to borrow that book.

I think you already know what I think about love... needless to say, it's the last thing on my mind. I'm a selfish brat who loves her freedom more than she can love anyone.
That said, I don't have any particular hatred towards Valentine's Day. Eh. We all say that we shouldn't have to express our love on one particular day, but I don't see anyone celebrating their love every single day. Valentine's Day is really "Oops-I've-forgotten-to-show-you-how-much-I-love-you-for-the-past-365-days" Day. It's a catch-up day! Anyway, I've come to realize that there's no need to be bitter about it. Half-off on candy the next day, woot! And yeah, I'm all about boosting the economy. It's not a bad thing, Valentine's Day. So people feel bad, big woo. No one cares about the poor kids without Christmas presents, or the kids with chocolate allergies on Halloween.
Anyway.
As for your movie selections, I think there's far too much romance in there. Throw in some action, man! Let's strive for balance!
