Is it for real? Has Barack Obama legitimately and decisively won the presidency? Not that I didn't think he'd win, but I'm still somewhat in shock from the events of the past few days. His task is enormous and I don't envy his position in the slightest. He has more to prove than any president ever has because people are going to criticize him more harshly than others. Trust me, the last thing I want is a bunch of whiny conservatives screaming "told you so" 4 years from now. I don't know what we can do, but I know that I have more faith in this man than I ever did in Bush. I'll take the guy who got an MBA from Harvard over the schlub who could barely maintain a C average at Yale (and who only got in because of his daddy) any day of the week.

Pretty much my sentiments exactly. This next four years is the major chance to pull a little of that good faith unity that was shat upon after 9/11. Hand over the keys to the car, Bush totals it whilst high on a cocktail of meth and whiskey.

Looking at it that way, all he has to do is NOT FUCK UP. But if we thrive during this term? We might start in on all of those promises about getting two sides to start mending.

Maybe a pipe dream, but I say okay.

Oh man, I'm so jealous of you. I couldn't scream here, and people want to talk about the election critically...which is fine, but I want to jump for joy completely illogically.
