I'm not pleased...

I'm a cautious individual, I like to have back-up plans. So this spring I reserved a room for FC in my name just in case the folks I was planning on staying with had to back out or couldn't make the convention ( Read more... )

Auggh, that sucks.

You should crosspost this (ahaha, slightly edited) to furcon-- I'm sure you'll find someone.

I'm sure you don't want to hear this...

But that was part of the deal with the new hotel long before any changes, and they made a few announcements about it on the FC communities before nov 1st. (The dead line)

People bookin' back up plans like you did turns into a real problem for larger cons. (I'm not talkin' about just furry cons) So most of the big con hotels will devise up precautions like this to avoid a large proportion of their reservations bein' fake. It also helps out the others that needed a room that wouldn't otherwise have one because of people with back-up plans.

but yeah, sowwie you got stiffed with the extra room. I think kite might still need a spot...

Me and three friends are staying at the Sainte Clair, but an opportunity to jump over to the Fairmont is hard to turn down! I'd be willing to get this going if you're still offering. :]

I think it's a single bed (they were out of doubles when I booked) and I'd need a credit card to transfer it to but if you're interested still hit me up with a PM and I'll see about getting it transferred to yah

Eep, a single? I'm not sure we could do four people sharing one bed... would you be willing to check and confirm it only has one? That's kind of the dealbreaker for me at the moment. ^^'

The hotel refused to confirm two beds for me, typically it's first come first serve but in this case it looks like the reservation is a single bed, they do offer roll-away trundles but that would still probably be somewhat difficult. I think in this case they were out and they're now booked solid so there's no chance my reservation can get changed to a double bed. Sorry.
