...So yeah it's been a week and a half since he's actually touched his Pokegear's communication setting. because his mun fails like that orz... also please pretend this was posted in the early evening-ish hours instead of after midnight
What's happened since then? Oh, he got to Cherrygrove, he stayed there a couple days, and then he continued on, and is currently... well, not too far on Route 30. He's been busy actually training his Gastly, now that, you know, his Lick can actually affect more than 10% of what he finds. And he's been sticking kind of close to town, just in case he needs to go back there for some reason.
As such, his Gastly is now level 8. As such, he has learned Mean Look. Which is why the Pokegear is being whipped out this evening - Manjoume feels like recording what each new attack does.
As evidenced by the fact that Manjoume himself is sopping wet (though trying not to shiver under his coat, which is on the contrary quite dry), and by the Magikarp that is flopping on the ground, trying to get back to the water, Manjoume apparently leapt in the water and grabbed that Magikarp with his bare hands. Maybe not the smartest move in the world, but oh well.]
All right, try Mean Look!
["Gastlyyyyy~" The Gastly's eyes glow slightly, and the Magikarp suddenly stops trying to get back to the water and looks the Gastly in the eye. ...And then splashes uselessly on the ground. Yay Magikarps.]
It said that that prevents it from escaping... I guess it wasn't kidding, was it. Go on and use Lick.
[And Gastly does so. The Magikarp takes obvious damage from it, but isn't quite knocked out. And Manjoume considers for a moment before pulling out a Pokeball and tossing it.
Wild Magikarp was captured! And if he's nicknaming it he isn't mentioning such right now. (Not that he's mentioned whether his Gastly has one or not, anyway, but...)
Happily, Gastly floats over to Manjoume and proceeds to do what would, were it a cat or something, be rubbing happily against his face from a perch on his shoulder. Except, you know, that he's a ball of gas.]
Guess it'll be more than just the two of us for dinner, won't it.
