It would be real nice if, along with everything else, gaining an initiation meant that one was no longer able to say stupid things. Unfortunately, as with so much else, it just doesn't seem to work that way in real life.

And retroactive family planning is just really strongly disapproved-of in most places...

Nah, the mystery is (1) figuring out how to tell when thy feet are in thy mouth; and (2) figuring out what to do about it once thou hast realized how much of an ass one has made of oneself.

At least that seems to be a good part of it.
