Some jerk hit a dog on my street about an hour ago and didn't even stop. Of course, me being an animal lover with no self preservation instinct, as soon as I heard the "thump" I ran out into the road at rush hour to wave cars away... well, at least I didn't get run over! Two nice women stopped and we took the poor dog to the (ludicrously ( Read more... )

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that they just drove away, but... ARGH. I WOULD NEVER DO THAT.

D: That's awful! Poor puppy!
And that was awfully mean of your dad. D: My dad's pretty gruff, be at least he didn't tell me to abandon that baby bird I found once. ):

Aww, what happened to the bird?

My dad isn't really gruff... he just doesn't care about much other than work. x__x

And the dog has made a miraculous recovery!

Well, I found it on the sidewalk (it was tiny! Fit in the palm of my hand and didn't even have all its feathers yet!) and almost stepped on it. I brought it home (freaking out cuz i thought it was gonna die) and my dad told me to find its nest and put it back. I couldn't find it, and then my dad had to go somewhere or something, so he told me to try finding a wildlife rehabilitator or something. (At least, I'm pretty sure that's what happened, it's been a couple of years) We surfed the internet, and fed the bird in the meantime (i don't remember what). It was pretty funny, it had two settings: completely zonked out sleeping, or wide awake and HUNGRY. And as soon as it was fed it would just zonk out again. XD We brought it to a rehabilitator lady, and she said she'd take care of it. So, happy end! Oh, and turns out it was a baby sparrow. &hearts

So glad to hear the dog's okay!

Sanada, you're right, your dad is wrong.

I hope the dog recovers.

lol, my whole family was so appalled at my father that we'll be shunning him for weeks.

And not only did the dog recover enough to go home today, but I was able to find her owners! They were dumb for letting their kid take care of the dog, but she seemed really happy to see them. ^_^

Oh, yay, that's the happiest ending one could have hoped for.

Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your dog! If any of my cats were hurt, I would be devastated.

But the dog is recovering well, and I was able to find her owners! The just moved here from a rural area, and they let their kid take care of letting the dogs run... x___x
