[The video suddenly turned on. All that can be seen is darkness.]
AHHHHH!
[There is the cry of what sounds like a boy in distress. Shortly followed there is a crash, and the sense of movement. There is the sound of rustling and falling. The communicator is now on its side, yet still doesn't show much. If one were to look very closely they would

AMEN!
[Maxwell had fortified himself with a prayer of deliverance as he dashed out the doorways of the church, his black cassock flagging behind him and his heavy cross jingling with every stride. He couldn't remember the last time he had made such a mad dash into the darkness, blind, with only his vague memory of this city's outline fresh in his mind. Rushing past alleyways and several forks in the road, he skid to a halt at the sound of a childish yelp.
Blessed steel clicked as he cocked his weapon, fierceness of a viper in his Icelandic green eyes, fueled purely by adrenaline and perhaps desperation that he might find another and not be considered alone in this Godless land.]
Salvē?
[He called into the darkness of the empty building, inching towards it's open threshold.]
Salvē, Alassandro...?

Sorry, I did not mean to startle you. Venire. Come. Let's--
[He stopped mid-sentence and cocked his head to the side, listening to the approach of someone else into the building. The words, the name, made it obvious it was not, at least, a monster. Hopefully.
He made sure the boy was steady on his feet before letting go of his hand and spinning around to face the darkness. He kept quiet as he waited but one hand fingered a silver dagger at his waist.]

I think that's....
I-I'm h-here.
[His voice was not very loud, though he had attempted to be loud enough to be heard.]

[Creeping into the dark, his weapon glinting low in what little light there was to give, the chief perked at the small voice and turned to see a silhouetted figure standing next to a much smaller one.
Instinct drove him to raise the silver barrel tightly with years of homed precision on the man.]
You there! Friend of foe?
[As if it really mattered. The majority of this city was going to Hell, be him to send them there directly or not.]

As for the religious aspect...] Molti dei servi di Dio danno degli innocenti in nome della pace, ma non vedo nulla di male a dire a questo bambino. [Pausing he noted the child's innate fear and smoothed a hand over his blond head with a sigh.]

Wouldn't Anderson have a conniption that he had gone such a thing, he was almost humbled and blanching at the same time at the thought. Yet impulse in his desperation had driven him like His mysterious ways, and now that he was here, he would follow through. After all, this was that blasted woman's sibling, it would do him well to be shown favor by his... future superiors.]

His eyes flickered to the strange--and loud--weapon and back again to the intruder. He was ready to react next if his stance was anything to go by.]
[[Sorry, Giovanni is too busy wondering what the HELL is that weapon to help out. Not that he wouldn't defend himself or the others if it were to attack.]]

[Alessandro cried out, it was that creature again. The thing that had been above when he first woke up. This time though, his body reacted typically, and he fainted immediately. The boy went limp and crumpled to the ground in fright.]
