Okay, I love the previouslies format. Alessandra is looking particularly cute. Yay for Willie! I need caps of Zoe in that bit :/
side note: this theme is one of my favourites in the music.
bookishbeth's girl Tamara! I'm loving the promise of a Tamara plot :D I hope it delivers and is as awesome as the trailer made it look.
No Lacy. So far she is my least favourite of the characters.
haaha Willie is such a teenager, listening to music and on the laptop.
Oh Joseph you're such a mess. ♥ the way your brother is both helping and kicking your ass over it.
Sam Adama, seeing through your bullshitting.
Tamara <3
She is still wandering the virtual worlds saying how she's stuck ♥ and the poor thing, she looks so scared.
Argh wtf a really messed-up russian roulette game is happening. Tamara steps forwards and tells them that she's stuck there and can't de-res even though they shoot her. Oh god ;_; this is so sad. Poor bb Tamara is stuck and shot and scared.
Main titles, which remain completely fucking awesome. Bear's music again compliments them perfectly.
Now they're telling Tamara she's probably a "sleeper" which is someone who fell asleep/unconcious/into a coma with her holoband on. Except we, the viewer, know the truth. Tamara isn't bleeding, she's healing instead. Weird evil blonde lady (Vesta?) tells her minions to clean up Tamara and get her new clothes. Damn, that dress was cute :(
OH SHI-. Willie's headteacher has called him out on his skipping.
Willie is hanging with Sam, as usual. Joseph comes to get him.Even in simple motions it's clear that Willie does things only if Sam tells him to, as he only does what Joseph says when Sam signals to him to do as his dad says. It's weird and awesome.
Caprica City: guy puts on holoband. They're now taking Tamara through v-world, something that was in the Caprican earlier. It's basically an insane game you play on the holobands. Almost like Sin City meets video games where you can be part of it. It's all slightly greyscaled and with old-type outfits, it looks awesome. The guy said it's gonna be some kind of heist, so cool.
Oh god poor Tamara. New Cap City isn't very kind to her.
Side note: IRONIC massive contrast with New Caprica ;)
Oh here we go. Guy mentions the train that blew up and it seems to ring something in Tamara. He says the object of the game is unclear. No one's ever finished or won yet because once you die you can't go back. With Tamara they've got more of a chance.
They go into this club, it's gloriously Sin City-like and I love it. And he points out the mark they're after his cash. Fairly simple, pretty awesome.
Cut to Joseph. ilu Adamas. He finds family photos and lingers over it and ;_;
Cut back to Tamara being her badass self in New Cap City. She goes to distract the security, gets shot but doesn't get sent back. Ta-daaaa. This must be pretty fucking trauatising for Tamara, and her tears seem to agree. Her accomplice uses a thingy to get the mark's avatar.
Cut back to their seedy motel in New Cap City. Tamara looks at her bullet-wound, which looks weird, and her accomplice is showing her how he stole the code. The guy tells her that the game means something to him and it makes him think he's -something.-
Joseph has taken Willie back to the place in the photos of the family to go fishing. Willie is reluctant. Caprica schoolkids see him and mock him. Joseph tries to say that he can talk to him, tries to initialise a heart-to-heart and Willie knocks him down. Too distracted by the guys calling him a Tauron dirt-eater. ;_;
Daniel makes his first appearance of the episode, and his business guy (Cyrus) is questioning his declarations last episode about making no more profit from holobands and the virtual worlds.
Willie is still insisting that they go. The bullies start up louder, Joseph says ignore it but Willie uses one of uncle Sam's lessons. Throws a rock at the big bully's head and starts to beat him up. Jesus Frakking Christ, Willie, way to not deal with everything.*
Bedtime confessions with the Graystones. Daniel's gonna lose the company. Amanda tries to calm him down with stories about when she was pregnant and things were different. Apparently they were poor and couldn't run the car or pay the rent, and in those 16 years they built up from so little. I'm not totally sure what her point is, but never mind.
Graystone industries. Business-men are bitching. Kat is still playing Priyah. She tells them their approval ratings went up ;)
What is that? That's the sound of the Zoe-bot, coming to crash the meeting. Following in from Daniel haha. He goes "Holobands are over!" and the business guys freak out. I'm hoping for a glimpse of my bb Zoe. Come onnn guys. He introduces the cylon as the future. He directs it and she obliges. She's even making faces as she goes (hey Alessandra!) and it's totally cute. Still only one shot of her though, makes me saaad. Kat Priyah looks especially unnerved. Artificial sentience, he says. Zoe looks proud when she stops walking. He says there's a brilliant mind inside the body, and she has that look of a child that's been complimented by their father. Obviously.
Creating another race to walk alongside them.
OH DANIEL IF ONLY YOU KNEW.
It won't have rights, and won't question the orders.
DANIEL! DO YOU SEE WHAT YOU'RE DOING!
He orders Zoe-bot to rip off her arm. D: D: Zoe thinks he's joking but still does it to keep up the robot pretence. Oh god Daniel NO WONDER THEY DID WHAT THEY DID. She throws the arm onto the table. Lots of shots of Kat here, looking freaked out. She also has an adorable outfit on.
NeW Cap City. Boy transforms himself into the avatar they stole, and walks alongside Tamara into the bank to steal the guy's moneys. He pretends to be a massive jackass like the guy from the club and sends the police guys packing. Tamara hides in the corner but then comes out to help him. She is also wearing an adorable skirt suit. Seriously the costume design in this is ♥ They open the vault using a code from the planets in the 12 colonies which is pretty cool. SergeGraystone on twitter's been giving little tidbits of info on them which I love to read, this whole expanded world. Like, did you know that one of them is almost completely covered in water? Never mentioned in game but still awesome.
An alarm goes and the vault closes. The guards come out and shoot Tamara but she stays strong for a moment, and manages to make them disappear. She then falls to the ground, and the guy asks "what are you?"
Adama's house of Happy. Willie is clicking his pen. Joseph grumps "stop it" once, then Willie carries on. Joseph snaps the words again. The door knocks. Willie carries on clicking.
Joseph asks Sam what he's been teaching Willie. Larry is there, but doesn't say much. Sam tells Joseph that he's losing his son and Willie needs closure. And to perform the rites (?) and let Shannon and Tamara go. ;_;
Daniel's little robo-presentation went well and he's still the owner of Graystone Industries. Good start!
Oh man it's like a ceremony for the dead. All very Tauron. They are clapping idk why. This is an interesting look into the tauron culture too, I kinda love it. They're wearing ribbons and smart clothes. There's a photo of Shannon and Tamara up on the wall. The Adama brothers are united again ♥
New Cap City. Tamara and "guy" (I didn't catch his name heh) enter the club. Vesta is there, and guy tells Vesta how awesome Tamara was. "Bring it to me," Vesta tells her, but Tamara drives a hard bargain. Wants to be woken up.
Oh god. She has a newspaper.
Oh my god with the news of Tamara's death in it.
"Isn't that you, baby?"
D:
;_;
Oh my god Tamara. Guy asks what the list is of.
"You're not going home, dollface."
She cries and guy hugs her. Oh he's a sweetie, seriously. And she picks out his gun and shoots the whole damn place. I LOVE THIS GIRL. She grabs guy and tells him to go find her father ;_;
OH MY GOD ILU TAMARA. He hesitates and she goes "You can be something in the real world." ♥
WHAT IS IT WITH THIS PROGRAMME MAKING ME CRY?
Vesta managed to escape Tamara's shots. "What are you?" she asks Tamara in horror. One of the themes of this episode, identity. Tamara points the gun. "I'm awake," she tells her, and shoots.
Back to the Adamas. Joseph sits down beside his son. The camera focuses on their hands, they're both fidgeting. It's little moments like this that make BSG/Caprica so wonderful. A priest-type guy comes up to them and asks them for a coin. Joseph gives one for Shannon, Willie for Tamara. It apparently grants them passage if they can let them go. Faintly reminds me of the ancient greek afterlife stories, something that was always there in BSG.
They're invited to bid them farewell.
;_;
I'm crying. Again.
"They will live forever in peace. They will live forever in your hearts."
Tears and hugs. Someone sings the Tauron theme, and a candle is there. The priesty guy lights a small thingy from it and paints on Joseph's chest.
OH GOD NO THE ADAMA THEME.
;_;
cue buckets of tears from me.
Cut to Joseph Adama smiling and looking happy. Guy from New Cap City comes. "Tamara sent me."
"What are you talking about?"
"She's in the V world and she can't get out."
"You saw her?"
Guy stutters about how she's sleeping. And Joseph tells him she's dead and then demands to see her. Guy runs away, leaving Joseph alone in the street whispering his daughter's name.
Cut to Tamara, owning that skirt suit and heels and walking through a very similar street. Only this one is in New Cap City, where she's going to be for a while.
GODDAMN, CAPRICA. WHY SO FUCKING AWESOME?
Previews for next week: the murder plot in the pilot comes up. OH SHI-.
Overall. Good lord. The amount of soul-breaking is on a par with BSG's fourth season. It's beautiful and I love it.
* - massively reminded me of Admiral Adama. Good job, kid.
