I think Helen would have preferred that Ashley never found out.
Very interesting thought! I'm sure it would have made her life much easier - one less thing to worry about. Though I am not a mother, I can imagine that keeping that kind of secret from your child must be hard, but them knowing the truth might be harder. Helen probably still has a lot of regrets about her past and can't forgive herself for some of them - especially those concerning John. Why would she want her daughter to have to bear all of that as well?
* So, what did you think about "the end in the beginning" idea?
I think it works well - and it's ambiguous enough that the first time around we don't see a difference between Magnus desperate for survival, and possessed Magnus desperate for survival. The first time I watched the episode, Will looks surly and ready for a fight - not like him at all. On rewatching, he looks utterly exhausted and at the end of his tether. That's well done, in terms of direction.
* We have another "bottle episode" - how does it compare with KUSH?
It's more claustrophobic than Kush. At least in Kush you could get out of the plane and run around in the snow. You'd die, but not a slow asphyxiation kind of death. Or a crushed by an imploding submarine kind of depth. When I think 'bottle episode', I think of Requiem first, although Kush also qualifies.
* Will and Helen - we have some great bonding time and Will has to make some difficult decisions. How do you think this has changed their relationship?I think there was definitely more trust after the this
