Romano wasn't one to have a problem sleeping at all. Naps came easily during the day even under the bright sun and rest at night was easily obtainable for the Italian who hardly thought of the complications of life that kept others tossing and turning in their dreams ( ... )

Even the sound of Romano's voice wasn't enough to wake him; if anything, it only seemed to feed into whatever was going on inside of Veneziano's head. "Veee. Frateeeelloooo," he mumbled, turning as if to face his brother, when in reality he would have been looking the other way. He reached his arms out for a hug, only to stumble when he attempted to lean into the empty space before him. "Fratello, you're baaack. I miiissed youuu."

Italy groped the air and counters before finally finding the stove again. "Mmmnh, I wanted to make you dinner, but I didn't know when you would be home," he continued. "So I'm making it now, veee. But..."

He made a move to pick something up, but there was no telling what it was. Veneziano hadn't set anything else out on the counter (that hadn't fallen to the floor, anyway), and when he extended his arm, it only hit the side of the pot-and even that wasn't enough to snap him out of his sleep. "The water isn't boiling. And I've been waaaiting and waaaiting and waaaitiiing ( ... )

Spain had, as of late, been restless and a bit stir crazy. Especially as things had gone out of hand with some of the others, he was noticing some of his old nervous ticks resurfacing from his past--and not the very distant past, either. Sleep was becoming elusive, and without cigarettes to calm his nerves, he'd taken to trawling the hallways quietly. Nobody disturbed him for the most part.

But the noise in the kitchen drew his attention, and so he came toward it. It was still dark in there, which made him curious and worried, but he recognized the Italians he knew so well quite easily, though there was something off about the younger of the two of them.

He'd seen enough forgetfulness with the Italians that he didn't question the behavior for a moment, simply coming into the kitchen and going to the sink to turn off the faucet as he spoke.

"Italia is going to flood the kitchen, hm? What are you doing up, silly Italians?"
