[By now, Rin is also going about the food stalls. Far be it from her to refuse free food! At least after she has ascertained that it must be edible and not immediately life-threatening, judging from everyone else eating it.

Which, of course, doesn't say much, but if there are repercussions, she's decided, she will deal with them later. For now, she's hungry.

So she, too, goes about looking at all the foreign-looking food and having a great time.

Seeing Shion, then, ray of sunshine that he appears to be, makes her smile in amusement -- and in silent relief that she's not the only one here who gets excited about small things.]

[Never mind that the girl walking up next to him is a complete stranger. That doesn't matter in the least. Shion pulls the toothpick off which he just ate a small piece of fruit out of his mouth, then turns to her and grins.]

You should try this! I have no idea what it is, but it's delicious!

[Blinks a little, surprised at the sudden offer. Someone seems extremely trusting here.

But, well, far be it from her to refuse. She smiles at him.]

All right, I guess I shall have a bite!

[Well, he's not going to put it in her mouth for her or anything, but he does reach for another of the toothpicks and hold it out for her to take.]

The food here is really good.

[He's come to appreciate good food, recently anyway.]

Thanks.

[Takes it, but pauses before eating the fruit to answer.]

Mh, that's true! At least what I've eaten so far.

Cravat likes it too.

[Shion reaches down to feed a piece of the fruit to the mouse in his pocket, a little tan-and-cream colored creature that sniffs his fingers after the morsel is gone.]

It's nice here.

[That makes her pause, eyes trained on the mouse. She swears she's seen someone else walking around with a mouse looking exactly like that today.

She shakes her head lightly, deciding not to ask. Instead, she makes eye contact with the boy again.]

Nice? You think?

The food, I meant? And the people have been nice enough.

[He lowers his voice, leans in a little.]

Of course, I'm still investigating. But so far it seems better than some places I've seen?

[O... kay. Withholding comments on that one, too. Though he certainly seems ready to share the information. She shifts her shoulders a little.]

I don't know. I don't feel I've seen enough to pass judgement yet.

Well of course not.

[Shion grins, reaches out for another piece of the fruit, again holding it up to his pocket instead of his lips. It's only afterward that he realizes that although Cravat likes the fruit, he's probably going to have a sticky pocket. Ah well.]

You should try the desserts. They're very nice too, though some are strangely shaped.

[Watch him not take that penis cookie, but reach for a more normally shaped one next to it.]

[Rin takes the moment to eat the fruit, making a quiet sound of approval at the sensation of pleasant sweetness. At the same time, she watches Shion's movements attentively; seeing both his interaction with the mouse and... oh. Yes, that cookie he didn't take.]

There are quite a few strangely shaped things here.

[She's sensing a theme. And potential headaches.]

They do seem pretty preoccupied with certain biological urges, that's for sure.

[He's still avoiding the details of that, thank you very much. But he has heard all about the scientific side of things from Safu's reports!]

It's harmless, I suppose.

[The blush on his face says he's less calm about it than he sounds.]

Let's hope it is.

[Half-mumbled, more to herself than anything else. Maybe remembering that time when everyone in Kannagara thought they were married to random people.]

Mmhmm.

[Shion waves his cookie a little, smiling.]

These are good too. Try one. There's always time to worry after the picnic, you know.

... you know what? You're right.

[Smiles at him again and takes one of the cookies.]

I'm glad. I'm rather worried myself, but it doesn't do any good not to enjoy the moment while it's here. Later, I'll probably be cleaning up this mess, since I work in the park.

[He's only been here a few days himself, but he's gotten himself a job already. It's his way of looking at things, not to mope around.]
