Happens now and then. The Rift will... I dunno get a taste for something and just... decide to work double time. Sometimes it'll be quiet for a whole week too. It's not exactly something we can predict.

Though it's really cool sometimes. There was this one time when it just loosed a whole flock of the prettiest songbirds on the city.

Nothing so mystical... more a scientific dimensional phenomenon...

Hell if I know. We've got scientists that try to study it but it's never really gotten us too far.

The Rift... eeeh it's one of those things you just kinda have to slap a "Shit Happens" sticker on. Maybe someday it'll spit out someone who can figure it out!
