30 Day Meme Catch Up!

Aug 12, 2012 04:20

Yes, I realise I said I'd catch up awhile ago. I decided to reuse Semagic for helping me remember and to make it easier for me to post. I'll be a better LJ friend! :laughs:

Okay, let's get caught up, shall we? On to:

Day 3: Your first best friend
Her name was Savannah. A little girl who lived next door to me, in Lynwood. We remained friends even after I moved away to Fontana, as I vaguely remember her coming to visit us there. One story that I remember with her... We were having a sleep over at my place. We were maybe 5? Watching a movie, we decided it would be fun to cut our hair. I had my hair styled into pig-tails. I remember my Mom being PISSED when she saw us the next morning...

I was lop-sided. One entire tail chopped off. Yeah, that was fun.

Day 4: Your childhood fears
Hmmm. I don't remember if I had childhood fears before accidentally catching a glimpse of a horror film my parents were watching. I remember their warning of "Do NOT come out of your room, we're watching a scary movie." Well, I had to pee! So, I went to the bathroom, which while close to our room, the second floor had a catwalk with an open rail. I ended watching part of the movie. The movie 'IT'.

Ever since then, I cannot stand under drains, put my hand near the drain on the lip of the sink, look down hoses... Anything I -cannot- see the end of, I shy away from. Grates, pool intakes, garbage disposals, etc. To -this- day! Freaks me the FUCK out!

Day 5: What you were like in high school?
Ah High School. What a strange mix of years! First off, I lived several miles from campus, therefore I had to be driven in by bus. This lead to no real friends because we were so far away from "civilisation". So my Freshman year I didn't do any extracurricular activities. Did well for grades and such. Sophomore year was much the same. Spent most of my time with the older kids. I was never really seen as a Freshman! Woo, no initiations!

Junior year brought higher grades, working in the student store before school and during lunch every day. It also brought Track and Field (Shot put and Discus). So after-school training, matches and then meets on Saturdays. I was good. Kept my grades up, was accepted into CSF (California Scholastic Federation? [Basically student athletes with above 3.0GPA]) Much the same with Senior year as well. Though, I spent more time in the store and library than some classes that I missed the acceptance into CSF for my 4th quarter by 1 point or something stupid. This also resorted in my not graduating with Honours. I could have had a yellow tassel damnit! BUT, to make up for that, I -still- hold school record for shot put!

So, I went from being a loner type kid, to falling into the older crowd, to falling into the smart athletes' club. LoL

Will post more later~
