[ She waits, having heard a tone in his voice that didn't sound right. ]

It's all over, I'm dead back home and there's nothing I can fix about it. So there's no point talking on it further.

Save for one thing, hon - you aren't dead, and still have to deal with it.

I might as well be! Mayfield hardly counts as a life.

You're still processing it. And you're still learning. Even if Mayfield wants us to stagnate, you aren't letting that overly ordered existence take you.
