Introspection Was Overdue (I shouldn't write when I'm unsure)

Reading and spending too much money on music was on the table for the day and I decided not to call it's bluff. It's nice, on occassion, to just be around rather than on the run, but I won't put you on...I couldn't do it two days in a row. It's only 5 and I'm itching. Just itching.

While looking for what I want in a new camera and ripping some ( Read more... )

i think all paintings done in oil glazes are at least semi-haunting...they're too real for a sustainable comfort level. i'm caught up in this painting primarily because the stares of the two awake characters are so opposed. one inviting, one forboding. it makes you feel like you shouldn't move.

p.s - i got your fantasmic package. i miss your company. welcome to lame central, usa.

p.p.s - i had the most earth shattering experience at the church in the background of painting number one. it was truly a place you would have appreciated.

i've actually had some experience with that one...and i'm definitely not complaining. degas has done much that folks don't notice, ironically - because he's batshit famous.

p.s - captain aliteration...meet your first mate.

Just wanted to drop you a note and say that I've really enjoyed your last few entries. Even though we haven't actually talked in a long time, I do keep up with your livejournal because I like your perspective. My own livejournal has sort of fallen by the wayside, but I just returned from an orchestral tour of China, and kept a blog while there. It's at www.oberlinonline.org/orchestra if you're interested...the first few entries are a little haphazard as they were written in the little Internet time I had over there, but I spent more time on the last one. Such world travelers we have become!

Reading this entry took me wayback, lady.
(To the years when the east wing of the National Gallery was my playground literally every afternoon)

Thanks for helping to defragment,
for lack of a better term,
some of those memories of the district
that I've been struggling
to recap for a decade and a half.
