I grew up Mormon, and honestly used to believe, from my parents influence, conversation and every day 'teachings', that the only true and good people in this world were the Mormons. I grew up sheltered, naive, and unsure about everyone else. Once i moved out of my home, quickly did i grow out of that thought process, just from living every day life, and began to realize they make just enough mistakes as everyone else. Membership of an organized religion doesn't exalt you out of imperfections and mistakes. It probably creates more.
YES my mom pretty much ruined my bright-eyed cross-country adventures. she came right down to new orleans, knocked on my door, and told me i was the reason she couldn't sleep and that i was going to give her a heart attack and accused me of being a crack dealer and a prostitute. dunno if i'll ever forgive her for it. i'm tryin. g? but not trying that hard?
