Sorry - it took me a while to fish out the DVDs and watch episode one, so it's taken me a while to comment, notwithstanding my absolute determination to re-watch the series and discuss with you.
This is probably my least favourite episode. Like all first episodes it was written to give obvious cues about things - so we are told the operatives are called 'Sandbaggers', and when Wellingham calls, Peele hands the phone over the Neil saying it's your ex-father-in-law - all pretty clumsy in retrospect.
My big question is - where were the field scenes filmed? The rolling hills could be the Dales. The cliff - though - where is that? The forest - lots of pine - is it Caledonian? Does anyone know? I watched the credits at the end in case it was mentioned but there was nothing.
