So, I've been thinking about finding work as a Scavenger--what's that line of work like? Rewarding, tedious, mechanically and creatively fulfilling, dull?

talk nerdy to me...please, curiousity killed the machinist, mmm sexy money, royal bum

It can be rewarding and fulfilling, depending on what you find; it is rarely dull or tedious.

Rarely dull and tedious? Even if I spend my day working through one pile? (and hello, I don't believe we've met).

You have simply neglected to take the trash golems into account.

I don't believe we have; my name is Fred.

You're the second person I've heard mention this trash golem, what kind of beastie would it be?

A pleasure, Fred! I'm Geoff.

Yup, that's me! How about at Smoke's bar, tomorrow evening around 7?

The hours are pretty good, you're free to roam about and dig up things on your own or take a co-worker as a partner (advisable on the first days, until you figure out the finer points of dealing with trash golems). It's a veritable gold mine for the mechanically inclined.

Not for people who don't care to get their hands dirty, mind.

Sounds like a playground.

Although what on earth is a trash golem?

For certain folk, I guess it could be.

They're... you know, I can't be sure of what they are, exactly. I haven't really taken a close look after dispatching one but, from the looks of it, they're sentient creatures made entirely of Scrapyard junk. They're a bit mindless and territorial, meaning they have no reservations about attacking people.
