I used to watch Buffy, when it was on the air, but I stopped at the end of Season 3, when we decided G was paying too much attention to the screen (ie any). Over the years, people have urged me to watch the rest of it, and I resisted, mostly feeling like it wasn't a good use of my time

It's kind of cool to sit and burrow through a series that already has a number of seasons.

We've done it with parts of Babylon 5, and we are currently doing it with NCIS.

My little brother got me the entire series for Christmas this year - w00t! I watched most of it when it first broadcast on tv, but that was a while ago now, it's been fun to rediscover it. My sweetie and I tend to have Buffy marathons whenever we get together now. Just finished season 1.

I think there are a lot of random figures of speech that pepper my language and a lot of my friends, will probably notice them as I watch.

There are a really surprising number of Joss Whedonisms that have found their way into popular geek culture mostly particularly from Buffy, but a lot from Firefly, Dr Horrible, and his other shows. Reportedly, he's the source behind the recent popularized slang trends of things like 'shiny' and various other forms of altered verbiage. Enough that someone even wrote a book about it.
