I saw Apocalyptica tonight. I hung out with miss_chance and palmwiz; Gregorian was there, too, with friends of his. I love that he loves this band; I think he listened to their first album a lot in utero. (Hmmm, I wonder if he also listened to Nirvana's In Utero in utero. I don't recall

It was the night for kids and concerts. I took Sabine to Matisyahu, which was strangely full of blackberries.

Dir En Grey is indeed an acquired taste. They are a massively popular band in japan, but I still think their music sucks :). If you want to hear a differently eclectic band from japan, try Boredoms.

If you liked old Apocalyptica, you might be interested in checking out CelloFourte (currently CelloFury), who are a Pittsburgh-based cello rock group that I'm fond of. Last time I saw them, they were starting to transition to using percussion, but there's still a lot of good stuff (like the Muppets theme song :).
