Weird question, but are there any good sushi train restaurants in San Diego? I'm looking for a place with conveyor-belt type service...they're popular in Portland but I've yet to see one in San Diego. I think they're also called "kaiten" sushi places.

Oh man, I used to love Marinepolis Sushi Land in Beaverton...I miss it so much. :(

I've been craving cheap, good sushi lately and the sushi train places were the best place to get it. It's sad that they don't have them in SD.

That's what I noticed...I really wanted sushi train sushi because it's fast and cheap - my standby sushi place in SD is Sushi Ichiro on Convoy.

It's funny that you mentioned Ginza Sushi...I hope it's nothing like the UTC Ginza, because I nearly choked on a fish bone and died there. What a terrible place.

As far as Mexican, I never realized what I was missing, living in PDX! Where would you recommend in SD? So far, I'm ashamed to say that I've only gone on post-drinking trips to Los Dos Pedros and Cotixan, which were good if you're drunk. I also went to El Indio, but I was sorely disappointed.

I know of only one, it's in PB and it sucks. I think it's called Kabuki Sushi.

Darn. That is disappointing. :(

I think I've walked by there a couple times and thought about eating there.

no conveyor sushi in Sd save for that place in PB, that's boats though and I hear it's bad.

What are/were your favorite sushi boat places in Portland? (I'm visiting next month.)

Marinepolis Sushi Land in Beaverton is the one I used to frequent the most, although I hear the quality has gone down lately. I can neither confirm nor deny this, haha. There's also a place in the Tanasbourne shopping center but I don't remember its name. I also went to Sushi Takahashi once, on Burnside, but I was pretty unimpressed.

Marinepolis Sushi Land does this thing with seared salmon that I really like.
