Aww. I can kind of understand this, but I do think it's important that couples maintain some kind of life separate from each other, even if it's just one person going out to concerts occasionally without the other, or doing girls' nights once in awhile, or whatever. It's great that you think of her and miss her - it really shows your love for her and how much you still enjoy her company, but I don't think there's any need to feel guilty! I know you've mentioned before that she's encouraged you to do things like concerts and cruises (and I honestly cannot see you being the guy who would just bowl your way over your wife's wishes), so trust her on her word, especially since she's encouraged you repeatedly. I would imagine she has things that she likes to do without you once in awhile? Or things that you're *much* happier to stay home with Matthew and let her go enjoy?

Maybe I'm totally off base... but I think it's a pretty healthy thing, to have some time to yourself. :)

TOTALLY agreed! :D

John and I share a lot of interests (I'd never go see BNL, GBS or Guster without him, but that's because he enjoys it as much as I do ;) .. plus gardening, hiking, biking, etc. ), but we have our separate stuff, too. He's into gaming, and I'm not. I like to craft, and he doesn't (though he does like woodworking, and he's planning a train layout). So, he's heading out today to go play games with his nerdy friends, and I'll stay home and work on my S&D scrapbook. :)

It's important to have your own stuff, for sure!

Thanks, you two. :)

I like the fact that we can have separate things to do, too. I think it makes it a bit harder when I know she enjoys BNL shows too. It's also a bit harder when I'm flying across the United States, which is more expensive than her girls' nights out.

Sometimes I am my own worst enemy. ;)
