I am frustrated by being ignored by teenagers and trainees, I have a lot to teach, but if you will not listen, I will not continue to waste my time, REALLY!

and this does not make me a failure, this makes them bad listeners who have difficult lessons ahead of them.

Lys stated the problem very well, but even in a face-to-face setting, so often people have differing levels of skill or ability to read body cues as to intent.

I agree that we should not punish the words because even if we change the label of something, it does not change the true nature of the item/person/issue. And, over time, the new label will come to have the same connotation as the old. Then we end up cycling through and limiting usage of even more words.

Language is rich and complex and often we need to slow down in a conversation to decipher meaning and not let charged words set us off emotionally without carefully considering the usage and intent of the speaker.
