Saint Nicholas was well known for giving things to people. He'd put coins into people's shoes at night and slowly he became the legend of Santa Claus.

"Santa" is one of the many names for Father Christmas. He's a kind old man who gives gifts to all the children of the world on Christmas Eve.

Why?

Reply

Because he grew up very poor and sad as a child and wanted to make sure that no one felt like he had. Obviously a person can't take care of all kids, but he can try and make things a little better. Somehow along the way he had magic help him.
