Life is a time of testing, stumbling, and learning. God has given you the time to do so, and you still found yourself back with Him. That's the important part. He's understanding and patient. When you asks for forgiveness and He gives it, He forgets it...but you might not. When you ask for forgiveness, you have to forgive yourself as well.

Life is hard. You will test and be tested. I'm going to be slightly optimistic & say Don't give up. You should not be ashamed of trying to find your way and what you believe in, everyone does that. Be happy you found what you believe in and work to do what that faith requires from you.
