I know he’s evil, but you should see him naked! [fictional crushes]

Aug 25, 2007 12:52

The casting call spectacle and following IM discussions on various characters has reminded me of the phenomenon of fictional crushes. I think everyone who hangs out in fandom is familiar with the idea; the character in a book or movie or even fanfic that you just love and want to know better (in the case of roleplayers, often want to play). I used ( Read more... )

I was editing our IM convo/tagging from last night to possibly post somewhere in Rae's entry; goodness, that was fun, and it was so very odd to play Theo again. Even when it hadn't been that long since I last did, but. Different, somehow.

Yes. Much fun. And so ajfva;sfjhf near the ending, ohgodthem. They're so... hm. Open in a Slyth way? XD Idek, I think it's lovely.

I missed him. Is that odd? He's my favourite, even though Rae is lovely. I'm a duckling, you know this.

But yes, the closeness and the ease of it is kind of amazing, all things considered. That was the whole point, of course, but it sill kind of incredible to see that it can work, with Blaise. And as expected, he's rather more balanced, with Rae around. He still fucks up, he always does, but it's less... desperate?

I suspect most good roleplayers are utter ducklings, actually. And he missed you too, and no, that doesn't sound odd to me in the least. Theo's still the one I'll always fall back to, there's just no helping it.

He stills fucks up, but there's always someone around who truly knows him and won't ever leave him because of said fuck ups. True brothers. Tilts head, which brings me to my theory that life would have been so much better, less harsh, had the twin lived.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the clothes. ♥ This wins so much, I can't even imagine what shopping would be like for you and me. I kept the two flowery shirts and the black one. My characters weeped when I threw away the trousers, but really, I can only pull off so much. >>

Thank you, again. Blows star dust in your hair, la.

I'm glad you found use for some of it. I did the thing with the closet and figured I'd throw this stuff your way.

Idk. I really don't;

It's busy in the library, people's quiet murmurs making Raelan's teeth clench together as he tries to block out the buzzing noise. Quickens his pace as he keeps searching around, finding success as he reaches a few of the more deserted tables in the corner.

"Theo," he greets softly, casually, walking up to the table. The young man in question is seated with his back towards Rae, and other than a quick tense and release of his form, nothing is being said in reply.

"Listen," Rae starts as he sits down next to Theo, trying to catch his gaze. "About last night. Now, before you say anything---"

"You've come to see if I am alright," Theo interrupts calmly, never taking his eyes off the parchment in front of him, reading on.

Raelan tilts his head, eyes narrowing in focused observation. "Are you."

A hand reaches out to take hold of a quill, a brief dip into the ink pot. "Not everyone bends to satisfy his every whim without any struggle whatsoever."

"Not the question, Theo."

"Precisely, but what business is my ( ... )

...I find it mildly gratifying that just one kiss is cause for much ado. Theo is doing his best to be obscure. It seems like it works with Rae. ♥ I'm not quite so fooled.

Well, for one, it's his first kiss. >> Always an excuse for alot of fuss. Second, it's a Blaise Zabini Kiss™. A thorough kiss, at that. And where Rae pokes with Blaise, he tends to flow with other people. 'You say you're fine? Alright, I think otherwise, but I'll leave you be now.'

And of course you're not. ♥ It's probably the entire point of why I wrote this; you not being fooled. XD Then again, you know him well. <3

oh IS it. I wasn't sure.

I'm really used to him, so it's kind of amusing to see him with a character who isn't. And they're both sweeties, but kind of like << at each other.

It occurs to me that Blaise and Rae could make quite a lot of trouble in their casual way.

... omg this is like a comment jungle.

um, i was researching about twins, and this came up, and it reminded me forcefully of blaise and what might have happened with him and the twin business:

Chimerism

Because twins shared the uterine environment, fraternal twins can carry genetic material inside their bodies that belongs to the other twin. Some twins even have two different blood types in their body as a result. This mixing of genetic codes is called Chimerism, and is usually harmless to both twins.

Other instances of Chimerism occur when one twin "vanishes" and the other absorbs his or her genetic material. Most of these rare individuals have no idea they ever had a twin, and are surprised to find they host more than one genetic code. Discovery Health Channel aired a show on this phenomenon called "I am My Own Twin", which detailed the problems two women faced because of their chimerism. One woman needed a kidney transplant, but her DNA did not match her relatives' DNA. Another woman's children were taken away from her because ( ... )

*random and pointless interruption* I think there was an episode of House second season that had to do with that.

I feel the association here is obvious.

Oh, I'd give it all for you
I'd give it all for you by my side once more
Oh, I'd give it all for you
I'd give it ‘cause it's harder to touch
The things that are dearer
I love you too much
To trust something clearer
I know I fell too far
But here you are...

....oh, oh. Oh. Well done. I continue to be impressed with the little details you get right. Stances and looks and tone of voice and just the feel. And Blaise's reaction to Theo's soft admission of basically having nearly no one in his life, it's just right. <333 And it's kind of distantly hilarious that Blaise is not troubled at all by Theo getting moderately seriously wounded but tenses at Tracey's mere presence.

WELL DONE you kicked the writing block &hearts!!!!! Awesome little scenes.

♥ Well, to be fair, the training room scene was just me tightening up one we'd already done, but. ^^ I like how the office scene plays out, so I'm glad it meets with your approval.

Theo gets hurt often enough that Blaise is bound to be at least a bit jaded, yeah? Besides, it was already healed up when he got there. But yes, the thought occurred to me as well. Figures. Eesh, Blaise, possessive much? ♥

Only temporarily, I think. I was very stuck when I tried to work on it this morning... I'm too elsewhere, I think. Scattered, stressed, ect. Fuck you, school. I just edited the bit you read for grammar, because wow, hello run-ons in a couple of those passages.
