'Han....H-hange..'
Hangeng smiled gently like he’s always done since Siwon's brain surgery a year ago.
'its okay, take your time.'
But Siwon huffs, disappointed in himself once again. He was able to move his arms and start walking again with no difficulties. Yet, why was it so much harder on him when it came to speaking.
He’s known that he’s had a brain surgery for quiet a while, now. His father, or rather Hangeng who had been with him since he opened his eyes had been there to reassure him that these things take time. But the more Hangeng spoke the angrier Siwon got.
Words form in his mind and he wants, so badly, to just scream them out loud. To tell Hangeng -instead of having to write it all the time- how much he appreciates his patients and how thankful he is. Siwon sits on his bed, back against the headboard, biting his tongue as if doing so his tongue would wake up and actually starts allowing him to speak.
‘don’t bite your tongue, Mr.’ Heechul says, walking in with his medical bag. Siwon gave his doctor a confused look then turns to the calendar. He gives Heechul the isn’t-my-check-up-next-week look. Heechul smiled, taking out his doctor materials. ‘Geng said he has plans for you guys next week, which is why I’m here today instead.’ the doctor said, bopping his patient on the head with a popsicle stick, to which Siwon stuck his tongue out at him.
‘your such a baby,’ the doctor sassed before sticking the popsicle stick in front of Siwon. ‘now say ah.’

‘what are you doing here, Hyung.’ Jongjin asks sadly. He had been looking for his hyung all day and when he finally realizes the date of the day he rushes to Yesung’s favorite restaurant. ‘it’s…..a habit, I guess.’ Yesung said, a bittersweet smile on his lips.
Jongjin sighed, ‘was the cake really necessary?’ the younger asked, poking the cake with the words happy birthday Siwon and brings the whip cream his mouth.
‘come on.’ Yesung chuckled. ‘lets get going.’ the younger nods, getting up and scooting his chair in, walking ahead. Yesung got up, sighed at the cake, he takes his folk and runs it across the cake. What was once a happy ‘happy birthday Siwon’ was now a bunch of wiggly non-readable lines.
‘hyung,’ Jongjin starts as they caught a cab together. ‘promise this’ll be the last time you ever celebrate his birthday.’ Yesung looks away from the view outside. ‘I promise.’
And Yesung keeps that promise when the next year rolls around and it was the same exact date. Of course Jongjin and Yesung’s best friends Kyuhyun and Sungmin kept him busy the whole day and night.
‘Yesung Yesungie!’ Yesung smiles, it was too early for this much yelling in the morning but he loves his job and so he smiles and bends down to take the little girl shouting his name, into his arms. ‘good morning, Hyejong ah.’ she smiled at him, giving him a peck on the cheeks before wiggling out of his arms and towards the Cinderella outfit she spots hanging at the playhouse’s closet.
Yesung chuckles, shaking his head at the two year old. He’s been working at the child development center for quiet a while now. Teaching had always been his calling but he gave teaching in a classroom up for the adorable two years he gets to see everyday. Plus, his parents owned the center.
The phone rings and he sets the play dough in his hands down, whipping them on his red apron before walking over to answer it. ‘Kim’s child development center, Yesung speaking.’
‘hyung! I got the job! Waaahooooo!! We are celebrating tonight!!! Plus! I want to introduce you to my boyfriend. So we are going out tonight!’ Yesung laughs at his younger brother and how he casually slips in the hey-hyung-I-got-the-job-and-oh-by-the-way-I’m-throwing-me-having-a-boyfriend-in-your-face-also.
‘Congratulations! See, I told you that you’d do great! Can Kyu and Minnie come too?’ Jongjin chuckles, ‘of course they can! Their like my hyungs from anther umma!’
‘alright, bud. I’ll see you later then, text me the place and when okay.’
‘kay hyung! Laters!’

‘hyung! Would you hurry up!’ Hangeng giggles, walking out of his room with his suitcase. ‘slow your roll, Siwon ah. We have three hours before the plane takes off. Besides, Heechul’s not even here yet.’ Siwon sighes in frustration. He was in a rush to get on that plane. He doesn’t remember Korea but from the photos Hangeng had shown him, it was a beautiful country. He can’t understand how he could forget his birth place but then again, he’s forgotten a lot of things after his brain surgery.
‘alright alright! I’m here!’ Heechul shouts, opening the door to their apartment with his cell phone going off in his hands with the name ‘Choi in the butt’ flashing at him. ‘FINALLY!’ Siwon shouts, grabbing his duffle bag and running out the door. ‘let’s go Hangeng hyung! Times wasting!’
Both Heechul and Hangeng shook their head at the younger. ‘can’t blame him though, I’d be excited, too.’ Hangeng defends the other when Heechul glares at his back.
They board the plane two hours later, Siwon managing to snag the window seat from Heechul.

‘he’s just an old college classmate Kyunhyung ah.’ Sungmin tells them as they make their way over to the bar. Jongjin’s boyfriend was having a panic attack in the parking lot about finally going public because they’ve only been together a few months and he doesn’t think he’s ready yet. But while Jongjin soothes him, the boys grab at a drink at the bar of the restaurant. ‘classmate my ass.’ Kyuhyun sassed. ‘if he was only a classmate you would introduced me to him!’
Sungmin frowned at his boyfriend. ‘he’s an old classmate and I didn’t introduce you because the only time we saw each other was in class! And its not like you went to the same dam college I did!
‘alright guys, can we all calm down and just have a few drinks before we get into another argument over each other’s old classmates?’ Yesung laughed at the two before ordering himself a drink.
‘YAH! LEE SUNGMIN!!!’
Sungming sit his drink on the bar before twisting around in his seat. ‘HYUNG! Yah! Heechul hyung!’
Both men hugged before breaking apart in an overly happy conversation before Sungmin brought him towards the bar. ‘your first drinks on me, hyung.’ the younger insist. Kyuhyun groans. Heechul laughed, ‘chill boyfriend, I’ve got my own man.’ he said before turning to Sungmin, ‘the picture you sent me of him was cuter.’ they both laughed and Kyung shook his head, downing his gin and tonic.
‘well, boyfriend you know. But this,’ Sungmin motions to the other body that was sitting along the bar next to Kyuhyun. ‘this is Yesung. Yesung hyung, this is Heechul hyung. I believe he’s also older then you.’ Yesung smiled, taking the other’s hand and shaking it. ‘please to meet another accomplished doctor.’
Heechul blushed, fanning his face ‘oh stop! I’m not all that accomplished, really. Just that I’m the top notch and most wanted doctor in Shanghai.’ the man praised himself. Kyuhyun sighed, ‘bartender! I’ll have another.’
‘Heechul ah!’
Heechul had been laughing at something Sungmin had said before he heard his name being called out. ‘ah! Geng! Perfect timing! Come here!’
Sungmin was excited to meet this half Chinese half Korean fiancée of Heechul’s but when he twisted around in his seat his smile fell over as a familiar figure walked side by side with Hangeng.
‘this is the love of my life and his cousin Choi Siwon.’
